Barcelona
A vibrant city of culture, food, and history, and only about 20 minutes from the venue.
About the vibe:
A lively, culture-rich city full of delicious food, art, and history. Perfect for a pre-wedding stroll, sunset drinks, and easy airport access.
How to get around:
It's easiest to fly to Barcelona-El Prat (BCN) airport. From the airport, you can take the Aerobus, metro, or a taxi to the city.
The easiest way to move around Barcelona is metro. If you are going to use it often, you should buy a T-Casual card which costs €11,35 and has 10 trips. Be aware that they can't be shared and should be bought for each traveller separately.
When you plan to go outside of Barcelona, the nearest train stations are Estación de Francia, Clot and Plaça Catalunya.
Where to stay (Suggestions close to the action and still convenient to the venue): Neighborhoods like Eixample or El Born are great for enjoying tapas and experiencing the Barcelona vibes. If you want to be close to the beach, we would recommend Poblenou (we've lived here ourselves for 4 years).
Distance to the venue:
Roughly 20 minutes.
What to do (we have many more suggestions if you're interested!): Rent a bike or book a bike tour through the city, visit the Sagrada Familia (worth it), enjoy the beach, catch sunset from Bunkers del Carmel, and eat a lot of tapas!
Restaurant recommendations:
- El 58 — Cozy restaurant on the Rambla de Poblenou with a great selection of high end tapas and small plates
- Can Recasens — Traditional spanish charcuterie and cheese platters with excellent wine
- Cabo Bar — There is multiple around the city, it has nice tapas with an inviting terrace and good prices
- Tierra del Fuego — Argentinian steakhouse with an open kitchen
- La Pepita — Cozy tapas restaurant
- Mirablau — Cocktails with a stunning view over the city
- El Nacional — At the heart of the center, many restaurants to pick. We recommend the oyster bar
- Pobail Nua — A hidden Irish gem
- Trash Talk — Old school beats with munchy food
Personal note:
If you're sportive, consider running next to the beach in the morning in your sports outfit with a bikini/swim shorts underneath and taking a refreshing dive before the day starts. Also great for hangovers!
